This was pretty neat! I really like the take on the game collab idea, where instead of just a normal gallery, it's a whole ass game, where the art submissions are a vital piece of it. I really think that's creative, and I wish to see more collabs like this.
And from a basic art collab standpoint, it's really fun watching all the designs! I thought some of them were pretty well designed, while others gave me quite a laugh (specifically the clock one, that one was a nice inclusion). You guys did a great job and thought out of the box for the designs of the fish, and if there is ever a NG Fishing Collab 2, I would love to be a part of it.
That being said though, the game isn't perfect. I think the thing that sticks out to me the most is specifically the gameplay. It's a pretty basic gameplay loop, and it's pretty easy to pick up and learn... but it isn't very fun. There isn't really any objective or obstacle, it's just... catch the fish. That gameplay mechanic would be pretty interesting on it's own if it had some challenge to it, or any real threats stopping you, but there is very little. As the game goes on, there is a little bit of challenge to it, like the birds and the bombs, but those are pretty easy to take care of, and there isn't much substance to them. Maybe if it was a high score based kind of game, where you had to catch as many fish as possible under a time limit, it could work. Or even just a simple lives system could probably fix this... but as it is, it isn't doing much.
Also as a gallery type collab, I was kind of struggling trying to get all the fish. Not that it's hard to get the fish, but that they just... wouldn't appear. I would keep getting repeats of the same fish I already saw, when I was trying to find the fish I haven't seen yet.
Also, the Feed the Fish section of the game was rather pointless to me, there just wasn't much to it. It's a neat inclusion I guess, but it shouldn't be a main mechanic to beat the game.
Overall though, it's a neat idea. I really look forward to see if this idea gets fully fleshed out in a sequel / later update, and everyone here should be proud of themselves. Great work everyone!
